Republicans limiting budget to our agencies through their committees

To constituents, recycling feels like a money drain since there are no immediately tangible effects.

 

City of Philadelphia v. New Jersey

 

  • New Jersey passed Waste Control Act in 1973 which prohibited the importation of most “solid or liquid waste which originated or was collected outside the territorial limits of the state.” Due to that act, Philadelphia filed suit against the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. This was because Philadelphia municipal waste was delivered to waste processing plants in New Jersey. However, the law improved vital health and environmental objectives which little burden to the interstate commerce. The act passed under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.
